*BRSF is offering two travel grants of 750 € for the participation in the FENS Forum 2008 (Geneva, July 12-16th 2008) for neuroscientists working in Finland. The applicant must be a member of the society. Application with CV and a copy of the conference abstract presented by the applicant should be emailed to BRSF secretary before 14th of April 2008 (before 4 pm)
*Satu Palva was awarded the Novartis Neuroscience Prize for the best Ph.D. -thesis in Finland in the year 2007. The award was presented before the Brain Awareness Week's public lecture in Porthania, Helsinki 12.3.2008.
- The BRSF business meeting 2008 was held March 12th in Helsinki.
- Membership fee for the year 2008 is 15 €.

The Best Neuroscience Photo in Finland
-Interested in fame and glory as a neuroscience photographer?
The BRSF is pleased to sponsor a photography competition. We are seeking images that would best reflect the amazing and broad field of neuroscience in Finland. Winning photos will be selected based on originality, creativity, artistic touch and demonstrable thought behind photographic content. Winning photos will be featured on our website, which will be renewed shortly. The competition is open to everybody. Photos should be sent to the secretary (see contacts) by 14.4.2008. Prizes:
Fame and Glory +
1st prize):150 €
2nd prize: 100 €
3rd prize: 50€

*Sampsa Sipilä was awarded for The Novartis Neuroscience Prize for the best Ph.D. -thesis in Finland in the year 2006.
*Neuroscience Finland 2007 symposium was held in Otaniemi, Espoo on Friday 26th of October. The topic was "Functional Brain Imaging and Neuroinformatics"
